Course Description: 

Supporting Positive Behaviors in the Home and Classroom & “Make & Take”

Participants will learn how to:

  • use positive feedback & encouragement
  • build relationships to promote success
  • design environments and schedules
  • use intentionally teaching to encourage social/emotional skills
  • support the development of friendships
  • understand emotional literacy
  • determine the meaning and function of challenging behavior
  • develop a behavioral support plan
  • use prevention strategies
  • teach new replacement skills for challenging behavior

Make and Take 6 visual supports that will foster:

  • classroom/home expectations
  • positive relationships
  • turn taking skills
  • problem-solving
  • identifying feelings
