Strengthening Families’ Protective Factors: Focus on Concrete Support in Times of Need
Concrete Support in Times of Need refers to being resourceful, and able to locate and access the basic necessities of life. Join us as we learn strategies to help families access the physical, mental, and emotional supports they need and learn that asking for help is a strength.
Learners will:
Define the characteristics and skills related to accessing concrete support in times of need.
Identify everyday actions that support the ability to access concrete support in times of need.
Participate in activities that demonstrate the ability to access concrete support in times of need, for ourselves and for the families we serve, including those who have experienced trauma.
Make a plan to incorporate this knowledge into your life and work
Who should attend: All staff of family resource center (FRCs), child abuse prevention councils (CAPCs), and other family-serving organizations.
