Raising a Healthy, Happy Eater: Picky eating, special needs, and more
Do you or parents you work with struggle with their child’s picky eating? Are you wondering about the best feeding practices for children with special needs? This workshop discusses best feeding practices for young children that will help them grow to be happy, healthy eaters. We will discuss strategies to create a supportive eating environment for young children, how to support picky eaters in learning to eat new foods, and considerations for feeding children with special needs.
Presented by Aly Thompson, MPH, RD a Registered Dietitian with nearly 10 years of experience in both nutrition and public health. She currently works as a Public Health Nutritionist for the County of Santa Clara Public Health Department. She runs the department’s Childhood Feeding Collaborative, which disseminates best-practice child feeding messages throughout the county. Aly also works on policy, systems, and environmental changes that support the health of county residents through the Healthy Cities Program.
Offered for FIRST 5 Partners and other local professionals such as Social Workers, Home Visitors, Childcare and Preschool providers, Family Resource Center staff, and Therapeutic Service Providers. Parents are also welcome.
