The Intersection of System of Care and Family First Prevention Services
There are currently extraordinary and transformative opportunities in the child and family service ecosystem in California, with great focus on creation of child wellbeing and whole person approaches. This presentation will provide an overview of structure and function of California’s Children’s System of Care, established in AB2083, and highlight how this system can most effectively support sustainable Family First Prevention Services planning and implementation.
Participants will:
- Become familiar with AB2083 and the Children’s System of Care in California
- Identify at least 3 functional areas of their System of Care work that relate to and support CPP planning
- Name at least 4 related prevention efforts in their county that might be leveraged as part of their CPP work
- Identify at least 3 reasons for using the System of Care ILT as their CPP Governance body
Who should attend: Family Resource Center staff, child abuse prevention councils (CAPCs), and other child and family-serving organizations; Comprehensive Prevention Planning lead agency staff, County Prevention Planning Teams; staff and stakeholders of partner agencies/organizations and ILT or System of Care involved county leaders.
- This is an interactive training. Please be prepared to participate in activities such as group discussion, break out rooms, and/or demonstration. Your training experience will be best with the use of a web cam, audio, and a training environment conducive to active participation.
