The Family Check-Up: A Model for Prevention and Intervention with Families
This training will provide an overview of the Family Check-Up® (FCU) model. The Family Check-Up is an evidence-based approach to addressing the mental health and behavior of children aged 2-17. It is a trauma-informed approach to mindful parenting that is simple and flexible. It can be delivered in person or virtually.
Participants will:
1. Understand the content and process involved in implementing the Family Check-Up model
2. Consider what implementing the FCU model might look like with families in their communities
Who should attend: County Prevention Teams and cross-sector partners, including staff of child welfare agencies, behavioral health agencies, probation, Child Abuse Prevention Councils, community-based service providers, family resource centers, Offices of Education, tribal partners, and parents/youth leaders with lived experience.
