Course Description: 

Exploring Science for Preschool Inclusion "Make and Take"

In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn how exploring science supports overall development and will be provided with activities to implement at home and school using practical materials and adaptations for children with and without disabilities. 

Participants will:

  • Learn that exploring science supports critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, communication skills and social skills.
  • Understand how every day experiences provide young children many opportunities to ask questions, make sense of what they observe and build an understanding of the world around them.
  • Learn how to adapt simple science activities for all children, including children with disabilities.
  • Make 3 activities to support science with preschoolers, adapted for different abilities. May include song, visual supports, and hands-on science experiment.
