Advanced Reflective Support Concepts: Regulation, Mentalization & Translational Science
This workshop is designed for professionals of all disciplines and roles who provide reflective supervision, consultation, facilitation (RSCF), or similar forms of reflective support for others, and will focus on advanced concepts and skills for providing reflective support as a means of assisting others in transforming their work. The workshop will explore strategies for maintaining a balance in psychodynamic and neurobiologically based approaches as the pathway for gaining deeper understandings of self, clients, and colleagues. The process of reflecting on ones work, then deconstructing and reconstructing it will be examined didactically and experientially, and Fonagy’s construct of Mentalization and Perry’s Neurosequential Model will be used as key conceptual guides. The goal of continuous professional transformation through considering alternative interpretations, enhancing mentalizing, reducing projection, exploring certitude, and incorporation new awareness and new knowledge into practice through a constructivist approach will be the unifying theme throughout the day.
Target audience: All interested partners and all professionals of all disciplines and roles who provide reflective supervision, consultation, and facilitation.
