Course Description: 

Working with Families who have Children with Special Needs

This 2-part workshop series covers how to successfully collaborate with families that have a child with a known or suspected disability; understand parental grief; make use of community resources and Parents Helping Parents services; consider and ensure inclusion; work with parents who may have their own disabilities, all aimed at fostering resiliency in these families and young children. This workshop series also includes information understanding Early Start, the IFSP and the Transition to IEP, as well as a Learning Disabilities Simulation.
