Utilizing the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ-3) and ASQ-Social Emotional (ASQ-SE-2) for Developmental Screening
ASQ-3 & ASQ-SE are a set of questionnaires about children’s development. It has been used for more than 20 years to make sure children are developing well. ASQ-3 can help identify a child’s strengths as well as any areas where a child may need support. ASQ-SE focuses on a child’s social emotional development.
Participants will learn how to:

Define and discuss benefits of developmental screening

Describe features of ASQ-3 and ASQ:SE-2

Score ASQ-3 and ASQ:SE-2

Describe ASQ-3 and ASQ:SE-2 cutoff scores
-
Interpret ASQ-3 and ASQ:SE-2 information in relation to other referral considerations

Understand importance of sensitive communication of screening results

Discuss the process for referring children to appropriate community resources

Discuss appropriate follow-up activities

Use prior to a special education referral
Target Audience:
ECE & ECSE & Kindergarten Teachers, Family Child Care Providers, FIRST 5 Partners, nurses, pediatricians, Administrators and other interested parties.
Registration:
Registrations must be completed online, by fax or by mail. NO registrations will be accepted by phone or email. Participant must have a valid email address in order to register. Registration will close one week prior to training date or until registration is full (some exceptions may apply). No walk-ins will be allowed in. Cancellations should be done by email or phone.
Bring your own snacks and lunch--there will be an hour lunch break if you want to go out to lunch.
