Understanding the Early Start Program

Children from birth to age 5 may have unidentified developmental delays/special needs, and professionals/childcare providers need an introductory-level workshop about the details of the Early Start Program and how to refer these children and families in a timely fashion.

This presentation will begin with a basic overview of eligibility for Early Start and the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). It provides a foundation in understanding the transition steps as well as the similarities and differences between early intervention and special education programs.

Additional Information:

Offered for FIRST 5 Partners and other local professionals such as Social Workers, Home Visitors, Childcare and Preschool providers, Family Resource Center staff, and Therapeutic Service Providers. Parents are also welcome.
