Trauma-Informed Systems TIS 101
Provided in partnership with County Mental Health Department:
The TIS 101 is a basic 3.5 hour training to understand how trauma and stress impacts developing bodies and brains, communities, organizations and systems. The goal of this training is to bring a cross-section of our workforce together (janitors, counselors, administrative supports, clinical staff, leadership, etc.) to develop shared language and understanding of what it means to be a trauma-informed organization and apply common practices to help our communities heal.
Objectives:
- Demonstrate understanding of the effect of trauma on our brains and bodies.
- Apply the principles of trauma-informed care.
- Identify strategies to develop organizational resilience and trauma-informed responses.
- Discuss the impact of organizational trauma on the ways we function as organizations and individuals.
Target Audience: Santa Clara County Behavioral Health Services staff and contract agencies.
***This course meets the qualifications for 3.5 hours of continuing education
units for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs, as required by the California Board of Behavioral
Sciences. The California Association of Marriage and Family Therapist is the BBS recognized
approval agency-Provider #131775.
