Protective Factors and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs): Meeting Families with Hope and Healing
As ACEs screening becomes more widespread, providers may lack knowledge about engaging families in the screening process in a way that supports healing within a data-informed framework. The Five Protective Factors model addresses this knowledge gap in a strength-based way that supports providers in making data-informed decisions about services and treatment.
Learners will be able to:
Understand and discuss the proposed relationship between ACEs screening and the Five Protective Factors framework.
Practice responding to families’ needs from a strengths-based, data-informed Protective Factors approach.
Generate ideas for how the Five Protective Factors framework can be integrated into their practice setting.
Who should attend: All staff of family resource center (FRCs), child abuse prevention councils (CAPCs), and other child and family-serving organizations.
IMPORTANT TRAINING INFORMATION:
- This is a webinar-style training. This means that you will not be on camera and will not be able to see other learners. This training will not include breakout rooms.
- Opportunities to interact with the presenter(s) and other participants will be included.
