Course Description:

Overview of the Protective Factors

During this 2-hour workshop, your facilitator will discuss each protective factor and you will develop an action plan through small group discussion and interactive activities. This session will require that you participate in discussion. For those who may prefer a lecture-format event without small group discussion, please register for the Webinar on July 12.

In this highly-interactive workshop we will:

Review the five protective factors that help keep families strong and prevent child abuse and neglect.
Brainstorm strategies and develop an action plan for concrete everyday actions that help families build those protective factors.
Discuss in small groups what it means to work with families in a strength-based way.
Share free Protective Factors resources for providers and families.

Additional Information:

This training is designed for anyone who works with children and families and focuses on concrete ways you can support the building of protective factors in your work.  Each month, CalTrin will focus on one Protective Factor. Learners can register for individual trainings that meet their learning needs and their schedule.
