Course Description: 

Special Topics in Special Needs--Building Strong Families: Resilience After Childhood Trauma

Karin Crosby, LCSW and Martha Johansen, LCCC will lead us in a powerful workshop on the topic of the effects of trauma on young children and the family system. This workshop is designed for parents who would like to learn more about the stress factors that affect their relationships and to learn about techniques to manage stress. Additionally, it is open to First 5 partners, therapeutic and related service providers who would like to gain a better understanding of how to best support families with young children who have experienced trauma. 

 

This training is open to FIRST 5 partners, therapeutic and related service providers, and parents! CEUs available for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs and LEPs, as required by the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences. Certificates are available upon request, indicating hours earned against the Infant-Family Early Childhood Mental Health Guidelines.
