Brazelton Touchpoints Approach (3-Day Training, March 26 - 28, 2013)
Touchpoints are periods during which a child’s spurt in development results in pronounced disruptions in the family system. The goal of the Touchpoints Approach is to change individual practice and cause a shift in the larger system around the care of families by combining relationship building and child development into a framework that service providers can use to enhance their work with children and families.
Objectives:
1. Understand the theories and concepts of the Touchpoints Approach, with emphasis on the developmental and relational elements of parent-child-provider relationships, and their practical applications;
2. Enhance their delivery of care to families by using relationship-building strategies and communication tools based on the Touchpoints Approach;
3. Observe and participate in encounters that demonstrate the Touchpoints Approach of collaborative anticipatory guidance.
Important Information:
Please note that this workshop is an intensive 3-day learning and practice opportunity. Each day builds on top of the other. If you are unable to attend and fully participate in all three days, we recommend that you choose another Touchpoints workshop that better fits your schedule.
