Course Description: 

Addressing Challenging Behavior in Young Children

Gina Baldi of CHC will present on strategies for better responding when a child with a disability has challenging behaviors. Course objectives include: identifying the causes of challenging behaviors, facilitating positive interventions, creating “teachable moments”, helping with peer interaction and finding opportunities for success. Most importantly, participants will learn what not to do in response to difficult behaviors. This training is suitable for parents and professionals alike!

This training is open to First 5 partners, therapeutic and related service providers, and parents! CEUs available for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs and LEPs, as required by the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences. Certificates are available upon request, indicating hours earned against the Infant-Family Early Childhood Mental Health Guidelines.

Prior to joining Children’s Health Council, Gina Baldi was the Director of Early Intervention at Pacific Autism Center for Education (PACE) and Area Director for Easter Seals Bay Area – Autism Program. Gina spent much of her time training and empowering parents to support their child’s skill development on all levels. She also trained and supported teams of developmental therapists, behavioral interventionists and teachers to develop successful programs for children on the Autism Spectrum.
