Strategies for Young Children with Challenging Behaviors: Special Topics in Special Needs

Kathy McNamara, M.A., LMFT, will present on strategies for better responding when a child with a disability has challenging behaviors. Participants will learn how to identify the root cause of individual behaviors, implement positive interventions, and support the child’s success. Most importantly, participants will learn In her private practice, Kathy McNamara’s clients include individuals, children, couples and families; she also leads groups. She utilizes her skills as a Process Therapist, implementing such modalities as Play Therapy, Gestalt Process, Sand Tray and Art Therapy, to name a few. Kathy works with families who have children with special needs, as well as with those who give them professional support. Special Needs may include: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Learning Disabilities, Emotional/Behavioral Issues, Delayed Development, Autism, Sensory Integration Disorder and/or Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder. what not to do in response to difficult behaviors. This training is suitable for parents and professionals alike!
