Course Description: 

Partner Special Needs Training Series—Introductory Parts 1 & 2

This workshop series covers how to successfully collaborate with and support families that have a child with a known or suspected disability; understand parental grief; make use of community resources and PHP services; consider and ensure inclusion; and work with parents who may have their own disabilities. The focus is fostering resiliency in these families and their young children, including understanding Early Start, the IFSP and the Transition to IEP between early intervention and special education programs as well as a Learning Disabilities Simulation and a tour of Parents Helping Parents (PHP).

Please note this is a 2-part series.  In order to receive a certificate of completion, participants will be expected to attend both Part 1 on October 7, 2014, and Part 2 on October 14, 2014.
