Bullying Prevention and Intervention Strategies Training
This training will provide a thorough overview of bullying including working definitions and legal mandates, prevention and intervention strategies, and a variety of resources to help address the issue in schools. Presenters will share a pyramid of strategies from whole school prevention approaches to early and intensive intervention. Research on the dynamics of bullying will also be presented, as it defines the roles involved in bullying situations and common traits of people who bully and their targets. An action plan will also be shared to help support school-based efforts to strengthen schoolwide approaches and implement current best practices to prevent bullying and foster a positive school climate. Cyberbullying, social media and pertinent laws will also be addressed.
Target audience: K-12 teachers, school administrators, PBIS coaches and team members,Classified staff, counselors, social workers, school resource officers.
