Course Description:
Childhood Trauma and Treatment: Neurobiological, Relational, Psychodynamic and Developmental Concepts
This workshop is designed for providers of all disciplines and roles who work with children and/or adults who have experienced trauma or other adversity from birth through age five. The content will focus on the neurobiological changes, including those within the Stress Response Systems, that impact all aspects of development, functioning, health, and well-being.
Course Objectives - Participants Will:
- Identify changes in a client’s functional age based on activation and regulation of the stress response systems.
- Identify preventative steps to reduce vicarious trauma.
- Plan therapeutic strategies that acknowledge the client’s evocative cues and provide controlled exposure for the client.
